The Syrian Civil Defense and the children of White Hearts Center are linked by a bond of love and giving, based on the values โโof humanity and equal rights. For years, the support teams of the Syrian Civil Defense (White Helmets) have been keen to provide support and available services to White Hearts Center. This facilitates the provision of services to children with Down Syndrome. It also brings joy to the children through involving them in community life practices based on love and volunteerism.
Previously, the Civil Defense helped pave the side street leading to the center to make it more accessible to residents and visitors. They also helped prepare a suitable playground for young children and those with minor motor disabilities.
In addition, the Civil Defense provides toys and gifts to the children on various occasions.
Recently, coordination was made with the Civil Defense team to involve the children and give them space to participate in a beautiful volunteer project, which involved decorating a main street surrounding WHC. The children assisted the Civil Defense by providing the street with new modern wooden benches, painting and coloring the old ones, and cleaning the area. The Civil Defense encouraged others to follow the children’s example.
The participating team provided all assistance to maintain the safety and security of the children, under the supervision of the White Hearts Center team.
Their small hands, big hearts, and endless laughter and smiles throughout the activity are the compass that guides us to continue providing services to them. This is their right, guaranteed by law and the compassionate hearts that believe in them.
